I've used this both at work and at home. Being that I have psoriasis, my body tends to run hot, and I have issues with temperature regulation. At work lately, I've been sweating while other people have been fine. I can't have the AC on, lest it freezes my coworkers... So, this has been a great solution for me at work. And again, it has been great at home to use when it is humid especially. I've used it both at my computer desk at home, and in my bed.I also want to say that I like that the "blades" of the fan are soft. They're like these little flaps. So if you ever accidentally brush against them while the fan is on, it won't hurt you.I'd definitely recommend this product. Also for what it is worth, at the time of this writing, some specific colors are cheaper than others... The lime green is currently the cheapest.I’m never without a fan. I sleep with a fan, work with one at my desk, travel with one, etc. I have had scores over the years. I’m always trying lighter, smaller, quieter versions. Nevertheless, I keep coming back to Zippi. I’ve had the same one at my desk for 7 years. It also travels with me abroad. I use it virtually every day. It’s quiet - really just the air resistance from the blades - it’s portable, and it produces a great personal cooling breeze at two speeds. The fabric blades, which admittedly make you wonder, actually work very well, and require no bulky fan cage. The product is simple and attractive looking. With cleaning and a little basic maintainance this has proven the test of time. I truly do not know what else one could desire for a $20 fan. Zippi remains the one.Over the years, we have purchased several of these because we love them so much. The cloth fan blades are a fantastic safety feature for a bedside fan because they eliminate the concern of reaching for the lamp, book, etc, and touching the rotating blades. If we do touch the cloth fan blades it's just "whap whap whap" instead of "YIKES OUCH!" We have even purchased a fan and had it delivered to a friend's house when we traveled there to visit just to have our favorite fan available there! Also love that we can adjust the vertical direction and that there are two speeds. One note - the fans start off very very quiet but do get noisier over time. Sometimes fiddling with the rotating front piece quiets them down, but they can gain volume. For us the sound is not a deterrent - it's almost like a white noise and doesn't affect our rest. If you are very sensitive to noise, this may not be the fan for you, but highly recommend for others.I bought this fan in a green color more than four years ago (it's now cheaper in price than when I bought it in 2018) and it is still going strong. Some people may have an issue with the noise it makes, but I find it no louder that a regular fan. I've used it at the office and now in my home office and it works like a charm! Love the fabric blades-I've hit this fan so many times and it's great to hear a 'whap, whap, whap' instead of injuring yourself. Plus, it makes it easy to clean unlike the Flippi fans that Vornado makes. If you are looking for a small fan to keep you cool in your office or home office, or even in bed (it's small size would make it great for a nightstand), I totally recommend purchasing one of these fans. It's small and quiet - as advertised. And I like it comes in a variety of colors. It's not whisper quiet though and gives quite a bit of vibration. In pictures it is next to a 9-inch USB fan. Mine is branded Opolar but there are others exactly the same.As you can see depending on placement the USB one could be more suitable because it's more flat. The USB fan also has two settings and unlike Vornado is truly silent on the first speed and gives much more coverage with a similar airflow on the second speed. It also gives significantly less vibration. So much that I had to place the Vornado onto a speaker foam pad when using on my desk.Vornado is a wall plug, Opolar is USB and needs a wall adapter to use standalone. On the other hand it's more convenient to use USB with computer/laptop or even power bank.Mind there is a big difference between similarly shaped 5in and 9in USB fans. For my use case with a tube amplifier I went with neither (: I've picked Thermaltake 200mm computer case fan and USB to 3-pin adapter. With one inch depth it cannot be slimmer, gives very gentle airflow and does not generate any noise at all.Overall I would recommend Vornado Zippy but alternatives could be more suitable depending on your use case. This fan is awesome! I bought it for my office desk to get some more airflow in my cubicle and it works great. It’s practically silent and it fits perfect between my office phone and my PC. I really love that the blades are soft and don’t hurt if you touch it. The cord is the perfect length as well, it reaches just enough that I don’t have any cord left hanging. All of my coworkers have commented on the fan too and a few are going to purchase their ownThis fan is really, really quiet on the lowest setting. I found it to be the quietest one I tried, except for theIris USA Woozoo Air Circulator Fan, 52ft Max Air Distance, Medium which was a tiny bit quieter but is quite a bit larger. This Zippi may make a tiny bit of mechanical noise due to the construction - it was hard to tell, but overall the fan sound is very quiet. The blades on this are made of a nylon-like fabric. I tried all of the small Vornado fans and some others and this was the quietest. It's a good product if you're going to use it on a night stand or desk, but not elsewhere. I'm using this on my nightstand so it works great for me. I do wish the high setting was higher and the air flow was pretty decent. I love that the wings are fabricI had bought a zippi fan 3 years ago and it was excellent. This one looked quite different and was very noisy. It stopped working completely in the first 30 minutes. Came with US plugBought 2, neither worked when they arrived. Tried to return, but refused to supply commercial invoice for international return, so stuck with two dead fans.I feel weird saying a fan is cute - but this one definitely is. It's also well built, heavier than you'd expect and a stiff enough folding mechanism that it doesn't move in use. It's quiet on low, too. When it's a couple of feet away it's little more than a low hum (it's actually a pleasant pitch). It even pushes more air than I expected.I also like that the dial is a large physical toggle. Makes it easy to use with any wifi plug, although I realize that I could just as easily reach around it and turn it off.And I admit the first thing I did when I took it out of the box was plug it in and stick my fingers in the blades. It doesn't hurt, just makes a childish farting noise that I enjoy way more than I should. From 5 stars, down to 1 star - Great Job Vornado Air! First on Amazon for me!Fan stopped working, warranty service is critical on a sticker that is on fan itself. Lost sticker long ago because they do not stay on there. Those fans are cheap made, barely lasted 1.5 years. Vornado warranty is as inept as their char bot. They do not accept a Proof of Purchase for warranty purposes; yeah. So if you lose this sticker, you lose everything. Cheese, I know stickers were big in the 80's now in 2021, it means everything.I no longer recommend this product based on how very little life (for a fan) you get from those and the terrible warranty replacement process, which is a total hoax.Original Review:I bought two of them for traveling. I like that it has a significant length of wire, I always have a fan on either side of my bed for circulation. They often scare housekeepers... until I shove my entire hand in there; usually yielding a snicker out of them. Not sure I would want this around little girls with long hair, would be scared their hair would get caught in it, as I am worried for my own hair... but the motor is weak, just enough to turn the fabric fins.I do recommend this product.
